2025 Annual Report
A Message from the Executive Director
Looking back on this past year, I am truly inspired by the dedication that shapes our community. The Community Foundation of Pulaski County is here because of your generosity, your trust, and your belief that we can accomplish more together than we ever could alone.
In 2025, we kept moving forward with the goals in our strategic plan. The Pulaski County Early Learning Network gained meaningful momentum this year, deepening partnerships among early childhood providers, educators, and families to support the care and learning our youngest community members need. We are committed to this work for the long haul, knowing that what we start now will benefit future generations.
This year also marked an exciting milestone in community engagement with the inaugural Pulaski County Chautauqua. With the help of the IU Center for Rural Engagement, we revived this cherished American tradition and brought together nonprofit leaders, volunteers, community and faith leaders, and public servants for a day of learning, conversation, and collaboration. The energy in the room showed just how much we can achieve when our community comes together with open minds and a shared goal.
The listening sessions we completed in 2024 have continued to shape our direction in powerful ways. We do more than just hear the voices of our neighbors, nonprofit partners, and community leaders; your input shapes every grant, partnership, and decision we make. We remain deeply committed to ensuring that our work is guided by the real needs of the people we serve.
Thanks to your extraordinary generosity over the past 28 years, the Foundation’s endowment has grown from less than $800,000 in 1997 to almost $20 million today. Every gift of time, talent, and treasure shows what we can do when we work together. We are honored to manage these assets with care and intention, so that their impact will be felt not just this year, but for decades to come.
As we look ahead, I am filled with optimism. The challenges before us are real, but so is the strength of this community. With your continued support, the Community Foundation will remain a collaborator, catalyst, and champion of lasting change here in Pulaski County.
Thank you for being part of that story.

Winamac Early Learning Academy Summer Tuition Assistance
Pulaski County families know the childcare struggle is real. Indiana’s CCDF voucher waitlist has thousands of families waiting, and local options for affordable, reliable care are limited. This year, CFoPC stepped in with $10,000 in summer tuition assistance at Winamac Early Learning Academy, helping keep classroom doors open for local kids so their parents could keep working. This is part of CFoPC’s multi-year commitment to tackle one of our community’s most pressing needs head-on.
Boy Scouts Troop #229
Scouts BSA Troop #229 hit the road for Boston this year, thanks in part to a $1,500 grant from CFoPC. Exploring American history, building teamwork, and seeing the world beyond Pulaski County are the kinds of experiences that shape the confident, curious young people our community is proud to call its own.
West Central Sensory Toolkits
Every student learns differently, and every student deserves a chance to succeed. The West Central PTA used a CFoPC grant to place sensory toolkits in classrooms. These practical tools help students with sensory processing differences, autism, or anxiety self-regulate so they can stay focused, and every kid in class can stay engaged. When every kid can thrive in the classroom, the whole community wins.
West Central Youth League
The West Central Youth League knows a thing or two about hitting home runs. They have transformed their facilities into something truly special, and we were proud to step up to the plate with grant funding to help upgrade the facilities, including the baseball diamond lights! Now, West Central’s young athletes can keep playing, and this community can keep showing up to cheer them on, long after the sun goes down.
West Central HS Timpani
Every great band needs the right instruments. This year, CFoPC helped make sure West Central High School’s music students had brand-new timpani to support their musical education. Supporting arts education is an investment in the whole child, and Pulaski County’s kids deserve every opportunity to find their voice.
Junior Achievement BizTown
What is it like to run a business, open a bank account, or vote for mayor before you’re even in middle school? West Central elementary students get to find out firsthand through Junior Achievement BizTown, a hands-on program that teaches financial literacy and entrepreneurship. CFoPC is proud to help bring this kind of real-world learning to kids in Pulaski County.
Community Health Worker at Pulaski Memorial Hospital
All too often, the biggest barrier to good health isn’t medical. It’s the everyday challenges people face. This year, the Community Foundation helped fund a community health worker at Pulaski Memorial Hospital. This person connects patients with the services they need, helping local families with housing, transportation, jobs, and access to care, all with personalized, culturally sensitive support. We believe a healthy community is a thriving one, and we want to help make sure everyone has the support they need to be their best.
2025 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship
Corrin Combs, Winamac Community High School
Corrin Combs, a student at Winamac Community High School in Pulaski County, said she is relieved and grateful that—thanks to the continued generosity of Lilly Endowment Inc.—her college dreams are coming more clearly into view.
Combs was one of 17 students from four of the schools serving Pulaski County residents to complete the intensive application. Applicants from Winamac Community, West Central, North-Judson, and Culver Community schools applied for the highly competitive scholarship renowned for producing Lilly Endowment Community Scholars who prioritize community involvement, academic achievement, character, and leadership.
“The Lilly Endowment has been quite generous to our county since their highly competitive scholarship program began in 1998,” said Leeann Wright, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Pulaski County—which builds resources, engages people, and inspires generosity to enrich lives in Pulaski County, Indiana. “The Lilly Endowment created the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program for the 1997-98 school year. Grant funding since then, in excess of $490 million, has supported more than 5,300 Indiana students who have received scholarships through the program. We are proud of all our applicants and finalists this year, and we’re delighted to present this year’s award to Corrin. She is a fantastic young lady!”
Each Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship provides full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years. The scholarship is for full-time undergraduate students leading to a baccalaureate degree at any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university. Lilly Endowment Community Scholars may also participate in the Lilly Scholars Network (LSN), which connects both current scholars and alumni with resources and opportunities to be active leaders on their campuses and in their communities. Both the scholarship program and LSN are supported by grants from Lilly Endowment to Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI) and Indiana Humanities.
In determining Pulaski County’s Lilly Endowment Community Scholar nominees, consideration was given to Academics, Community Leadership, and Character and Values by the Community Foundation of Pulaski County’s Scholarship Selection Committee. After the field of applicants was narrowed down, nominees were submitted to ICI, the statewide administrator of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program, which approves the final selection of scholarship recipients.
