Last spring, so many of you came to listening sessions around the county to tell us about your vision for the future of Pulaski County. Your optimism and hopes for our community formed the basis of the Strategic Visioning Plan and gave us a clear path to follow. But with so much ground to cover, we need some extra hands!

Enter Heidi Wright, our new Director of Programs here at the Community Foundation of Pulaski County. With expertise and experience at other community foundations, coupled with a deep-rooted love for the comforts of a small town, Heidi is ready to jump into the work ahead.

“I was born and raised in a small rural community just up the road a bit in Peru, Indiana. I have lived all over the world, but still feel the most comfortable in a small Indiana town,” said Heidi. “One of my favorite things about small rural communities like Pulaski is the unmistakable sense of shared destiny. Everyone knows your family history because that history is tightly knit into the fabric of the community.“

In addition to her skills and appreciation for rural life, Heidi truly represents the foundation’s values, and she aims to apply them to her work. Heidi will work closely with our grantees, donors, and local nonprofits. She’ll ensure these vital partnerships are supported so they can continue strengthening our community, building on the foundation of trust already in place.

“My role as Director of Programs is multifaceted, just as the needs and services of Pulaski County are. The important work of the CFoPC is to foster hope and change through philanthropy. Everything we accomplish is achieved through collaborative relationships. I hope to nurture and build upon the strong relationships that started long before my work here.”

Despite all the work ahead, Heidi is right in her element in Pulaski County. When talking about service, she is confident and at ease.

“It goes back to what I said earlier of the shared destiny in a small community,” said Heidi. “Service is the intangible thread of gold that quilts everyone into a rich tapestry together. It is important to work together in the community for the sake of the community. We are all called to serve with gladness. I am happy to answer the call.”

Heidi’s professional expertise and genuine love for small-town life make her a perfect addition to our team. As we work together to strengthen and grow Pulaski County, we’re thankful to have her leadership and heart guiding our program initiatives. Welcome, Heidi!
