Volunteer with Us
Are you interested in helping make Pulaski County a better place to live, work, and play? The Community Foundation of Pulaski County (CFoPC) invites community members to share their time, talent, perspective, and leadership as volunteers.
At CFoPC, volunteering looks a little different—and that’s intentional. As a community foundation, our work happens through thoughtful leadership, strategic grantmaking, philanthropic partnership, and strong stewardship of charitable resources.
Our volunteers serve as committee members, task force participants, event supporters, and Board leaders who help guide decisions, strengthen governance, support fundraising efforts, and shape the future of Pulaski County.
CFoPC’s work is made possible through the generosity, engagement, and leadership of community members who care deeply about this place and its future.
Here are a few ways you can get involved
Serve on a Committee
Committee service is one of the primary ways volunteers engage with CFoPC’s mission and community leadership work.
CFoPC committees bring together thoughtful and engaged community members who help guide grantmaking, strengthen governance, support philanthropy, and advance the Foundation’s strategic priorities. Committee members contribute ideas, expertise, relationships, and community perspective in support of CFoPC’s work.
Committees generally meet four to six times per year. While some committees have restricted membership requirements, many welcome new members on an ongoing basis.
Current Committees
- Executive Committee
(membership restricted to Board officers) - Finance Committee
- Governance Committee
- Grants Committee
- Resource Development Committee
- Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program Committee
- Scholarship Advisory Committee
Committee members are expected to engage thoughtfully in discussion, come prepared for meetings, maintain appropriate confidentiality, and contribute positively to collaborative decision-making.
Committee service can also provide opportunities to deepen your understanding of community needs, build relationships with local leaders, and grow as a civic and philanthropic leader.
We welcome conversations with community members interested in committee service and volunteer leadership opportunities at CFoPC.
Join a Task Force or Special Initiative
From time to time, CFoPC convenes short-term task forces or working groups to focus on specific community opportunities, strategic initiatives, or organizational priorities.
These project-based opportunities allow volunteers to contribute specialized expertise, community insight, and leadership to focused efforts that advance CFoPC’s mission and strengthen Pulaski County.
Examples
- Strategic planning initiatives
- Community leadership conversations
- Capital or matching gift campaigns
- Leadership transitions
- Special events and anniversary celebrations
Please inquire about current task force or special initiative opportunities.
Volunteer with a Special Event
CFoPC hosts occasional community gatherings, donor engagement events, educational programs, and celebrations throughout the year.
Volunteers may assist with welcoming guests, planning support, outreach, logistics, and other event-related activities that help strengthen relationships and build community engagement around CFoPC’s mission.
Please ask about upcoming opportunities to support CFoPC events.
Join the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the Foundation’s primary governing body and one of CFoPC’s most important volunteer leadership groups.
Board members hold the organization in trust for the community and help guide CFoPC’s mission, vision, strategic direction, policies, and long-term stewardship of charitable resources. In partnership with staff, the Board helps ensure CFoPC remains a strong, accountable, and forward-looking community institution.
Board members contribute leadership, oversight, community perspective, and philanthropic engagement to support CFoPC’s work and impact across Pulaski County.
The Board is responsible for governance, financial stewardship, policy development, fundraising leadership, community engagement, and oversight of the Foundation’s grantmaking and operations. The Board also hires and evaluates the Executive Director, who is responsible for the day-to-day management of CFoPC.
Members of the Board of Directors are elected through a nomination and election process designed to reflect a broad range of experiences, backgrounds, expertise, and perspectives from across Pulaski County.
Board members serve without compensation and share a commitment to strengthening the quality of life in our community.
